System Wear OS 3 was already announced a year ago, but except for Samsung watches Galaxy Watch4 (will soon join them Mont Blanc Summit 3) is not currently running on any others. One company trying to catch up is Fossil. She is preparing an update for some watches Wear OS 3 later this year. For Reddit now introduced, that the Fossil Smart appwatches is being completely reworked and that is precisely why the update s Wear OS 3 will delay.

The app update, which was released last month alongside the Fossil Gen 6 Hybrid watch, drew quite a bit of backlash. This was because it lacked several features and removed a number of customization options from the app. Fossil has now published a post on Reddit explaining why a major update to both the phone app and the watch interface was necessary in the first place. According to the company, the complete redesign of the application is better in terms of support for the watch, which will receive an update this year with Wear OS 3, and will also facilitate the implementation of feedback, thus simplifying the transition to the new system. The old user interface was considered unintuitive, as the chaotic combination of vertical and horizontal scrolling was said to require "a lot of learning".

The post also revealed that Fossil is working closely with Google designers to help the app best meet the demands of the company's entire line of connected watches. A watch that runs on Wear OS 3, according to Google are not compatible with the app Wear OS, so brands rush to update their own apps; Samsung has Galaxy Wearable, Montblanc should have its own "app", and Google itself is reportedly working on its own (for watches pixel Watch). For the above reason, the transition to Wear OS 3 on Fossil watches slower than it should be. In addition to the Fossil watch, this year they have an update with Wear OS 3 also includes Skagen Falster Gen 1, Michael Kors Gen 6 Bradshaw or Mobvoi Tic watcheswatch E3.
