A situation with a number Galaxy The S23 and the chipsets it will use are largely unclear. Samsung's flagships have long used two different chips depending on where you buy them, but now it looks like the upcoming lineup will once again deviate from that, as it will use Snapdragon chips globally. That is, here as well.

Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has ties to many supply chains, states, that Samsung plans to use Snapdragon chips in the model Galaxy S23 in all regions, while the series Galaxy The S22 ships with around 70% Qualcomm chips globally. Historically, Samsung used Snapdragon chips primarily in the United States, while Exynos was used in Europe and Asia.

This year's switch to the SM-8550, which is likely to be labeled Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, is apparently due to Qualcomm's higher performance over Samsung's upcoming Exynos chip. The Exynos 2300 simply "can't compete" with the next Snapdragon chip, according to Kuo. He further predicts that Qualcomm will gain another share of the high-end market with this upcoming chip Androidy.

The end of Exynos?

In 2020, Samsung fans wrote a petition that gathered tens of thousands of signatures demanding that the company stop using Exynos chips. The impetus for this was the persistent problems with performance, battery life and especially with overheating, which often appeared and still occur with the Exynos versions present in flagship phones. In a statement at the time, Samsung said that "Both Exynos and Snapdragon processors undergo the same rigorous real-world testing scenarios to deliver consistent and optimal performance throughout the life of the smartphone".

At the beginning of this year, Samsung announced the Exynos 2200 after numerous rumors of its cancellation, mainly due to concerns about its sufficient performance. Of course, the chip eventually came out with similar rough performance as it was and is in the case of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but it still has some problems with games and applications, software bugs are associated with it, and indeed the case of performance throttling itself.

While Galaxy The S23 will exclusively use Snapdragon chips, according to this report, with Samsung saying earlier this year that it plans to create a new chipset "unique" for smartphones Galaxy series S, but first for S24, rather S25. The situation with the next series is still relatively unclear, although it is true that many domestic users would certainly prefer Snapdragon rather than Exynos in the state it is in now.
