Globally popular chat platform WhatsApp is working on a feature that would allow users to add voice messages to their status. It is already possible to add photos, GIFs, videos and "texts" to the status. A website specialized in WhatsApp reported about it BetaInfo.

From the image published by the website, it appears that a button with a microphone has been added to the STATUS tab, which is already available in the chat today. While it's not entirely clear from the image, the button could also include the ability to upload existing audio files as status updates. Like photos and videos, voice messages will use end-to-end encryption and the same level of security and privacy when updating your status.

The status update feature with "votes" is still under development and not even available to beta testers yet. Apparently, we will have to wait for her for some time. Let us remind you that Twitter is currently working on a similar function (here it is called voice tweets and is already being tested, although so far only for the version with iOS).
