This year alone, Samsung plans to invest 36 million euros, approximately 880 million CZK, in expanding production at its Slovakian factory. Together with this, 140 jobs will be created here. She informed about it CTK a Slovak Ministry of Economy, which wants the government to support this investment by providing tax relief.

As we have before informed, so the company intends to produce mainly new models of large-screen televisions and displays, which will primarily be intended for entrepreneurs. However, the company plans to export the entire production to EU countries. The South Slovak plant in the town of Galanta already has a 20-year history, when Samsung started assembling monitors here. However, capacities were still being expanded by further production of consumer electronics.

In contrast, Samsung already announced in 2018 the closure of a smaller plant in Voderady, Slovakia. The sales of the Slovak division of the company between 2017 and 2020 fell to half of their initial value, but only last year they increased by 30% and according to finsat.sk reached almost CZK 40 billion. At the same time, the Slovak Ministry of Economy proposed to the government to grant Samsung a tax relief in the amount of CZK 220 million. Earlier, Samsung started producing microLED displays in its Vietnam and Mexico factories. Their commercial version is mainly used in shopping malls, airports, retail and also for outdoor advertising.
