Chinese smartphone makers have failed to dethrone Samsung and end its global dominance. Huawei was close, but is still restricted due to the imposition of sanctions, Xiaomi is also firmly holding its third place on the global leaderboard. However, Chinese manufacturers are not satisfied with this result and reportedly want to switch to a new strategy next year.

It will focus on promoting cheap devices rather than flagship phones. In a sense, Chinese OEMs are considering a return to the old strategy of developing powerful but cheap phones. According to a Weibo report he cites IT Home, some Chinese smartphone manufacturers are planning to return to the 1 yuan, i.e. $000 (approx. CZK 150) price category next year.

Cheap phones could have better build quality

So, Samsung's competitors will try hard to achieve higher sales volume next year. To achieve this, they will apparently try to improve not only the functions, but also the quality of the construction. The report mentions that Chinese manufacturers will once again start using higher quality materials and components, such as metal frames. Cheaper phones are also starting to add under-screen fingerprint sensors.

But Samsung phones continue to set a new quality standard every year, and even its mid-range phones are now dust and water resistant. Opponents must at least keep up with him, otherwise they will disappear. Overall, it seems that Samsung's main rivals want to shift their focus from the premium market to the low-end one. Samsung has with its series Galaxy And a big success and now it looks like other manufacturers are copying his script and trying to beat him at his own game. But competition is important, and it's only good.
