Ask any smartwatch owner what's the worst thing about their current generation, and regardless of the device, you'll likely hear the same answer: battery life. Even if the device like Galaxy Watch4 and other premium smart watches with Androidem are getting faster every year, it doesn't look like any of them last more than 24 hours on a single charge. However, this could change with the introduction of the series Galaxy Watch5, when the Pro model could be the first full-fledged wearable device with multi-day battery life.
The latest leak came from the legendary leaker Ice universe, according to which Galaxy Watch5 Pro lasts at least three days on a single charge. While other wearables, namely fitness trackers and hybrid devices, can last up to a week with regular use, standard smartwatches with Wear OS from manufacturers like Samsung or Fossil rarely last more than a day in real life conditions. The same can be said about the Apple Watch.
Ice universe's claim of a minimum three-day endurance u Galaxy Watch5 Pro sounds very good, but should be taken with a grain of salt. Just because u Galaxy Watch4 Samsung advertised 48 hours of battery life, which was not confirmed in practice. On the other hand, the Pro model is supposed to be really huge Battery, so a three-day endurance is not so unimaginable. If this is indeed the case, it would mean a minor revolution in the world of smart watches.
Galaxy Watch5 to Galaxy Watch5 Pro should otherwise get Super OLED displays, a sensor for measuring body structure and ECG, IP68 degree of protection, faster charging, of Wear OS 3.5 based superstructure One UI Watch 4.5 and maybe they will be equipped with a function thermometer. The Pro model will apparently also boast a large one resistance. They will be introduced together with new flexible phones Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 and probably headphones too Galaxy Buds2 Pro in a little while.
Samsung is starting to convert that their new (disgusting to me) watch 5 will have groundbreaking battery life…
At the same time, their first Samsung watch Watch The 46mm lasted me 4 days without problems on one charge, and that for two years. ( Now, of course, after almost four years, it barely lasts a day ) And yes, I cut a lot of functions, because Always on, WiFi, GPS, sending info data to developers, etc. watch 42mm for two days.
It's all about setting up and turning off those unnecessary things that you don't use / only use in the given situation (sport).
Yes, that's right, it's about turning off what you don't need. It's worse with activity tracking. If one does not measure anything, and therefore does not use GPS, the endurance is extended.
Ha ha ha Garmin watches have a battery for 7 days and you know. So 3 days is ridiculous.
It depends on which one and with what use. Like smartwatch it lasts easily for 14 days and beyond, but as soon as you start tracking using GPS, the endurance also goes down.
The Epix lasts for 6 days with an average of one hour of GPS recording per day….
When they have an average duration of a week, then maybe. Until then, I'm staying with the Fenix.
But compare the display and size of Phoenix and the specifications in GW. OLED is something different than the display in the Phoenix, which is useful, but certainly not pretty.
Personally, I don't understand the drive for it to last longer than 24 hours. In the evening, I put my mobile on the wireless charger and next to it I put my watch on the wireless charger. I'll take both in the morning. If I put them there with the rest of the battery at 40% or 60%, I really like it. The only thing that would be a problem would be a duration lower than 1 day.
And I also need the watch for sleep monitoring... how can they handle it from a charger on a table?
24 hours means the whole day, i.e. even through the night. You get up in the morning, put on the charger, hygiene, breakfast and the like and have your watch ready for the day.
Well, I don't know, my garmin 7x solar won't last 25 days with GPS on, all sensors... So I don't know if 3 days is a coup 😉
