Google has officially unveiled the new logo for its Google Play app store. He did so on the occasion of its 10th anniversary. Attentive users may have noticed the new logo earlier in some parts of the store. On this occasion, the tech giant is also offering 10x Google Play Points bonus for 24 hours.

The Google Play Store was launched in March 2012 (so Google is four months late with the new logo). A store whose predecessor was a service Android Market, consolidated Google's media sales activities, such as Google Books, Google Music and Google Movies, into a single sales platform and added the Play brand to these media applications.

It is worth mentioning that the Google Play Music application has already been discontinued (specifically it ended at the end of 2020), the Google Play Movies application became the Google TV service (also at the end of last year) and remained so just the Google Play Books "app".

The new logo is flatter and has slightly more vivid and saturated colors. The shapes of the different parts of the logo have also changed, with the blue part no longer being so dominant. The new logo looks more balanced in terms of color and detail density, and the new, richer colors better match other new Google logos.
