Samsung's smart watches traditionally use OLED displays from its Samsung Display division, which guarantees them first-class image quality. However, that could change next year, at least according to a new report from South Korea.

According to an exclusive report by a Korean website Naver cited by the SamMobile server, Samsung is in talks with the Chinese company BOE about the supply of its OLED panels for watches Galaxy Watch6. These should be introduced in the second half of next year. Samsung, or rather its largest division Samsung Electronics, was already supposed to submit a formal request to China's largest display manufacturer, and the two companies are said to be currently coordinating the production plan.

In addition, Samsung is said to be negotiating with the Chinese company to supply OLED displays for its high-end smartphones Galaxy. So far, it has used its panels in low- and mid-range phones such as Galaxy A13 a Galaxy A23. Samsung is reportedly doing this to diversify its supply chain and add more suppliers for its mobile devices. This should make production more cost effective. However, the Korean giant has not yet commented on the website's information.
