It's completely normal to worry about your phone after leaving it at a repair center for a few days. Samsung has now come up with a new feature to allay these concerns.

The new feature or mode is called Samsung Repair Mode, and according to Samsung, it will ensure that personal data on your smartphone remains safe while it is being repaired. The feature allows users to selectively choose which data they want to reveal when their phone is repaired. Users are almost always worried about their phones leaking private data when they send them in for repair. The new feature is here to bring peace of mind, at least to Samsung smartphone users. For example, if you want to repair your phone Galaxy no one has access to your photos or videos, with this feature it will be possible.

Once the feature is activated (found in Settings→Battery and device care), the phone will restart. After that, no one will have access to your personal data. Only the default apps will be accessible. To exit repair mode, you must restart your device and authenticate with a fingerprint or pattern.

According to the Korean giant, Samsung Repair Mode will arrive via an update first to the phones of the series Galaxy S21 and later is supposed to expand to more models. Other markets are also expected to get the feature soon, until then it will be limited to South Korea only.
