Google Maps has recently received a number of useful features, such as the ability to monitor quality air, a widget showing local operation or mode enhancement Street View. Now Google is adding more news to the application, which are related to landmarks of world capitals, cyclists and location sharing.

The first novelty is "photorealistic aerial views", which resemble Google Earth and which provide a bird's-eye view of almost 100 landmarks in metropolises such as London, New York, Barcelona or Tokyo. You may remember the new mode immersive view, which Google presented at its May conference Google I/O – according to him, this is the first step to start this regime. To view a new view, search for a landmark/landmark in the maps and go to the Photos section.

The maps also add some new tricks for cyclists. Detailed details about cycling routes, such as elevation changes and road type (main or secondary lane) will give them more information before they hit the road. When planning a route, Maps can also alert you to steep climbs or stairs. All of this should mean that cyclists won't encounter routes that are more challenging than they imagined.

The latest innovation is a handy option within location sharing. When someone shares a location with you, Maps now lets you set a notification for when they reach a preset destination or landmark near it. The person sharing the location will be notified when you set up such notifications. He will also be able to turn off location sharing and prevent anyone from setting notifications. Thanks to this addition, you will not have to constantly check your phone to know that a loved one has arrived at their destination. Google has already started rolling out an update adding aerial views of landmarks and improved location sharing to Maps. As for the news for cyclists, it should be available in the coming weeks.
