Samsung started releasing the One UI 5.0 beta version with a slight delay. We write "with a slight delay" because it was originally supposed to be available already in the third week of July. It was the first to be made available on the phones of the current flagship series Galaxy S22, in Germany. The update carries the firmware version S90xBXXU2ZHV4.

One UI 5.0 brings features that are included Androidu 13 as well as Samsung improvements. The user interface is improved with faster and smoother animations and a redesigned notification center (it has new larger icons and increased background opacity). The Optical Character Recognition function is activated in the Gallery, which allows you to copy texts from screenshots. In addition, intelligent suggestions appear based on the text, such as taking a photo of a phone number or a web address that allows you to call with one click.

The release notes mention "goodies" such as the ability to gesture-activate split-screen multitasking, raised widgets, the ability to filter notifications from loud apps, improved sound and vibration settings, better search in My Documents, new features for the Bixby voice assistant, new emoticons, and the ability to create videos with two emoticons or new stickers for augmented reality and the ability to create your own from images.

Also worth noting is the improvement to the camera app, which now shows a histogram in Pro mode and, in addition, brings a watermark feature. Finally, Samsung has also updated most of its applications such as Samsung Internet, Health, Pay, Members, Galaxy Store, SmartThings and more.

The beta version of the add-on should soon arrive on more Samsung devices and in more countries. A stable version is then expected in October.
