Samsung will introduce a series of new hardware on Wednesday, apparently flexible phones Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4, smart watches Galaxy Watch5 and headphones Galaxy Buds2 Pro. In this article, we will summarize everything we know so far about the next Flip.

Galaxy Z Flip4, like the next Fold, should not be too different from its predecessor. The biggest differences in terms of design should be a thinner hinge and the associated less visible notch on the flexible display, a slightly slimmer body and a slightly larger external display (speculated to be at least 2 inches; the current Flip is 1,9 inches). The phone is to be offered in four colors, namely purple (Bora Purple), light blue, rose gold and black (in the BESPOKE edition, it will reportedly be available in more than seven dozen other color variants).

In terms of specifications, the fourth Flip should get a 6,7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate and Qualcomm's current flagship chipset Snapdragon 8+ Gen1, which will apparently be paired with 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal memory (it should be available with 512 GB of storage in some markets).

The camera is supposed to be dual with a resolution of 12 MPx, while the second one will probably be bordering on certainty "wide". The front camera should have a resolution of 10 MPx. The equipment should include a fingerprint reader located on the side, stereo speakers and NFC, and it should also be waterproof according to the IPX8 standard. The battery should have a capacity of 3700 mAh and support fast charging with a power of 25 W. The operating system will apparently be Android 12 with One UI 4.1.1 superstructure.

As it follows from the above, the next Flip should offer few improvements compared to the "three". The main ones should be a more powerful chipset and a bigger battery along with faster charging. As with its sibling, it is also expected to see a year-on-year price increase. In the variant with 128GB storage, it will reportedly be sold for 1 euros (approximately 080 CZK) and in the version with 26 GB for 500 euros (about 256 CZK). For comparison: the price of the Flip1 when entering the market started at 160 euros. If Samsung really wants to make foldable smartphones mainstream, raising the prices of its next foldables certainly wouldn't help.
