Samsung unveiled its foldable phones for 2022 and we were there. So not only virtually at the company's planned event, but also in person, the day before the actual event. It is a clear advantage that, unlike Apple, the company has an official representative in the Czech Republic. So what does it do to us? Galaxy First impressions of Flip4? Still kind of contradictory.
It is a beautiful phone that will fit in every woman's hand, and indeed many men's, it is also a very well-equipped phone with specifications, but it has its ailments. Of course, they flow from that flexible construction. The new generation has clearly jumped in all respects, where the external display in particular is significantly more usable. The joint got smaller, so the battery grew, but the noticeable bend in the display still remained.

Limitations of the technology used
Here it is clear how many leaks are counterproductive. We could look forward to how Samsung will show us that it has figured out how to reduce that unsightly groove, and how you won't know about it when you swipe your finger. But you will still see her and you will still know about her by touch. Galaxy The Flip4 is therefore a phone that is not suitable for avid users who spend hours and hours a day with it. For now, I can't quite imagine playing demanding games on it, when I will constantly see that dividing line in the middle.

But if you use social networks, you will probably be completely fine. You can bite it on the web too, but you just always have to count on the fact that the line is there, and that you will see and feel it. In the same way, it must be taken into account that even this time there remains a film that covers the display, which will begin to peel off after prolonged use (experience from Z Flip 3). Samsung service will replace it for free once.

All according to the established trend
The thickness in the closed state, the protruding lenses of the improved camera, or the crack at the joint in the closed state can also be a bit of a problem. However, it doesn't actually have to bother you at all, because it makes the device small in height and takes better photos. After opening, on the contrary, it is longer as well iPhone 13 Pro Max, when it is thinner and narrower. The joint has not received any spring this time either, so in the position you open the phone to, it will remain in that position. However, Samsung lists this as an advantage and has tuned out the interface, where you see something different on one half of the display than on the other. But we already know that from the previous generation.

Bottom line - half an hour to test such a device is not enough. Personally, I had nothing to do with the previous generation, so this was more of a familiarization after all. But again, I have to say that dating is very elegant and effective, and only a sharp test of Flip4 will show how and if it will stand up in "normal use". The present photos focusing on the groove in the display are of course purposeful in order to show this element as much and as best as possible, in real use it is not that noticeable after all. Although it is true that the reflections throw the display nicely, and if they just reach half of the device, it is clear what you will see there.

The price then jumped by five hundred compared to the previous version, which in the end can be quite a bite. The new one is better in all respects, although still very similar. And that could be the problem. Even a person familiar with the issue will have trouble distinguishing the two versions from each other if they do not have a direct comparison. One clue - all the new generations have a matte finish, the previous ones were glossy.
