As you probably know, the world's popular streaming service Netflix expanded its reach last year to offer mobile games. Now it has come to light that only a fraction of users play them.

According to mobile analytics platform Apptopia, cited by the site CNBC, the several dozen games that Netflix currently offers have only seen just over 23 million downloads, with only 1,7 million players choosing one of them on any given day. That represents only about 1% of the streaming giant's user base. While gaming isn't for everyone, such a low number suggests that there may be more to blame here than just a lack of interest in them.

One of the reasons may be that many subscribers do not know that in addition to movies, series and shows, Netflix also offers games. Another reason may be that some games require quite a large investment of time for the player to penetrate them, which may discourage many users. Instead, it's easier to just watch the next episode of your favorite series.

The quality of the games will probably not be the reason, because the platform offers, for example, a strategic gem Into the Breach. However, the truth is that its current game library is not very extensive (specifically, it includes just over 20 titles), but it seems that it wants to continue investing in games - by the end of the year alone, it should include at least eight titles in the offer, including Netflix Heads Up!, Rival Pirates, IMMORTALITY, Wild Things: Animal Adventures or Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales.
