Samsung's new smart watch Galaxy Watch5 is getting a lot of praise so far, especially for battery life, a durable display or a body temperature sensor (which is not yet software enabled). Of course, something had to come along to spoil this sun-drenched picture. It turned out that Samsung made several unsubstantiated claims about the thickness Galaxy Watch5 to Watch5 Pro.

Samsung in the specification table Galaxy Watch5 says on its website that the thickness of the standard model is 9,8 mm, while the thickness of the Pro model is 10,5 mm. But as the YouTuber found out DC Rainmaker, these data are quite far from the truth.

According to him, they have Galaxy Watch5 actually a thickness of around 13,11mm and Galaxy Watch Watch 15,07 mm. So what's going on? How is it possible that the Korean giant claims that its new watch is thinner than what the reality says? DC Rainmaker found that not only Samsung, but also other manufacturers, including Apple, ignore the dimensions of the sensor array in their measurements. The protruding sensor usually digs into the wearer's skin, so manufacturers probably think it's okay to leave its profile out of the measurement. However, they fail to explain their methodology and the official specification tables end up misleading customers.

Unfortunately, Samsung took this a step further and ignored the Pro's entire back panel in its measurements. Basically, he measured only its side wall, which is 10,5 mm, and "forgotten" the back panel, with which the thickness is 15,07 mm. It's also worth noting that the weight of Samsung's new watch listed on its website does not include the strap, meaning that Galaxy Watch5 to WatchThe 5 Pro actually weighs more than Samsung itself claims.
