Dropping today's smartphone or "bender" on the ground can be a nightmare for many. Although such phones are made of high-quality materials, they are definitely not unbreakable. YouTube channel PhoneBuff has now conducted drop tests of Samsung's new jigsaws Galaxy From Fold4 a From Flip4, and even though they have a fragile design, they turned out more than passable in them.

Just to reiterate, both the Fold4 and Flip4 use Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection on the front and back, and have better cushioning materials for shock absorption on the inside. When the phones fell on their backs, the glass on them didn't break because the reinforced metal frame absorbed the impact. The frame got a little scuffed when it fell on the joint.

However, the situation changed when the devices were rotated 180° so that the main point of impact was the opposite side of the joint. While the new Fold survived the fall with a few scrapes, a small crack appeared on the fourth Flip. Subsequently, the phones were dropped on the external display. While the Flip4 shattered, the Fold4 surprisingly didn't get a single scratch.

In a test where the phones were dropped half-open onto the internal display, the back glass of the fourth Flip shattered, while the Fold4 survived with only a few scratches. In the last test, when the puzzles were dropped in a half-open state so that they hit the joint, the back glass was broken even on the fourth Fold. Overall, both devices performed very well in the tests and, most importantly, were fully functional afterwards. The tests just confirmed that Galaxy The Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 are currently the most durable foldable smartphones on the market.
