In the world Androidu no one has better software support than Samsung, although that hasn't always been the case. The Korean giant offers up to four upgrades on many of its devices Androidua five years of security updates, which it also often releases ahead of time. And soon, if the EU proposal becomes law, other smartphone manufacturers could be forced to adopt a similar level of software support.

The European Commission came up with a proposal that smartphones sold in member countries receive at least three upgrades Androidua five years of security updates. If the proposal passes, there would be a problem especially for Chinese manufacturers who do not pay much attention to this area and rather focus on the hardware side of their smartphones. However, the situation has been improving for them recently, e.g. until recently, Xiaomi provided its devices with a maximum of two major system updates, but in the spring it promised that its phones (however, only the newest ones) would receive one upgrade Androidu extra (about one year of extra security updates, i.e. four).

EK wants too, for manufacturers to supply spare parts such as batteries, displays or back panels for their devices for at least five years. The near future will tell if this and the aforementioned proposal will be incorporated into law. If so, Samsung will lose its rather significant competitive advantage. He is an example, but he certainly does not want this.
