Samsung's next developer conference will focus on SmartThings and will take place on October 12, both offline and online. It will be physically held at San Francisco's Moscone North exhibition center.

The Korean tech giant said its annual conference will largely focus on the smart home platform SmartThings. The company will present its vision for the future and show the improvements it has made to its software, services and platforms. Among other things, he will demonstrate a technology called Calm technology, which allows multiple smart devices to communicate seamlessly with each other and thus improve the user experience.

Samsung will also say more about the newer functions and technologies that it brings to the One UI superstructure, the Tizen system, the Matter platform, the Bixby voice assistant or the Samsung Wallet application. Matter is the new standard for the smart home, and Samsung is developing it alongside other tech giants like Google, Apple, Amazon and others. Thanks to it, for example, it will be possible to control the SmartThings smart light using an app Apple Home Kit.

The keynote address at the conference will be given by Jong-Hee Han, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Samsung Electronics and Head of the Device eXperience Division. He will be followed by seven other Samsung executives, including the head of the SmartThings platform, Mark Benson.
