Despite all the criticism that Exynos chipsets have recently received, their sales are not decreasing, quite the opposite. A new report revealed that Exynos' market share rose in the second quarter of this year thanks to increased sales, while Samsung's most feared rivals saw lower sales.

According to the website Business Korea citing a report from analytics and consulting firm Omdia, shipments of Exynos chipsets in the April-June period amounted to 22,8 million, up 53% quarter-on-quarter, and market share increased from 4,8% to 7,8%. The chips were particularly successful in the segment of lower and mid-range smartphones, where Exynos 850 and Exynos 1080 are especially popular.

In terms of competition, MediaTek's Q110,7 shipments fell from 100,1 million to 66,7 million, Qualcomm's from 64 million to 56,4 million, and Apple's from 48,9 million to 34,1 million. Even so, these companies are still a long way from Samsung - MediaTek's share in the period in question was 21,8%, Qualcomm's 16,6% and Apple's 9%. Even Unisoc is ahead of Samsung with a share of XNUMX%.

Recently, there have been reports that Samsung wants to put the Exynos project on hold, but the Korean giant is denying this and recently revealed that it plans to expand its chips into wearables, laptops, modems and Wi-Fi products. However, the fact is that the Exynos flagship mobile will be available at least next year pause.
