Samsung its first Galaxy Fold showed the world in February 2019 and now it has its fourth generation on the market. In the field of folding phones, it is clearly ahead of its competition, among which, however, it is Apple not connected yet. It's been more than 1 days since Samsung officially showed its puzzle to the world, and Apple shows no signs of wanting to break into this segment anytime soon.

While Samsung has been at the forefront of the foldable phone market for several years, we don't see any innovation from Apple in this regard, as confirmed by yesterday's event with the presentation of the iPhone 14. In addition, it might seem that Apple is not innovating much even in the classic smartphone sector. With the basic model, you will hardly find any differences compared to last generation, so that there is at least some change, the mini model became the Plus model. The iPhone 14 Pro then has a redesigned cutout around which it plays Apple effective software loops and, of course, the quality of the camera jumped. Except for the performance, it's also everything, and even if satellite communication sounds nice, we may never see it (like the Czech Siri).

Apple he plays it safe, but is it safe for him?

We already know from history that it is Apple an innovator in the sense that he is able to improve existing ideas and sell them brilliantly. He very rarely (if ever) takes any risks with new technologies. Despite the success Galaxy From Fold4 a Galaxy But Flip4 seems to be nowhere near releasing its first foldable phone. This lack of activity has even given Samsung enough confidence to once again mock Apple in its recent ads. He growled in them Apple, that it lacks innovation while relying on its own technologies in these ads.

It's not entirely clear if he's playing Apple for safety due to the ongoing economic uncertainty, or whether he believes the technology is not mature enough to fit into his smartphone line. Apple thanks to the iPhone, it is still the number one market in many regions, it even has half the market at home, and that unfortunately leaves it too quiet. But it can pay for it, because it can be torn apart even by small Chinese raptors, which can grow quite quickly.

It's possible, that Apple wants to go its own way and does not want to release a folding phone in the shape of a clamshell or book, i.e. Flip or Fold. Instead, it may be planning to wait until display technology allows for an even grander design before releasing its first foldable, sliding, or rollable one iPhone. Be that as it may, its lack of activity in the foldable phone segment allows Samsung to gain a huge lead over it. And whenever Apple decides to enter the foldable phone segment, it may have to pull out the really big guns to somehow weaken the growing market dominance of the South Korean manufacturer.
