Global shipments of wearables, which include fitness bands and smartwatches, reached 31,7 million in the second quarter, up a quarter year over year. Fitness bracelets did particularly well, growing by 46,6%, while smartwatches saw their market share increase by 9,3%. This was reported by an analytical company Canalys.

It remained number one on the market Apple, which shipped 8,4 million smartwatches to the global market in the second quarter, accounting for a 26,4% share. The biggest "year-on-year jump" was the Indian company Noise. It saw a respectable 382% growth and its market share increased from 1,5 to 5,8% (its shipments of fitness bands were 1,8 million). Thanks to this, India achieved the highest market share in history (15 percent; year-on-year increase of 11 percentage points) and was the world's third largest market for wearable electronics. However, China remained the largest market, with a share of 28% (year-on-year decrease of two percentage points), followed by the United States with a share of 20% (no year-on-year change).
