Samsung's new foldable smartphone Galaxy Z-Flip4 it has several design and construction improvements over its predecessor, such as Gorilla Glass Victus+ (instead of Gorilla Glass Victus) and a redesigned hinge. Like the "three", it got a durable Armor Aluminum frame and waterproofing according to the IPX8 standard. Its durability has now been decided to be checked by a YouTuber from the channel JerryRigEverything, who had already tested the new one fold.

In scratch tests, the Flip4's external display scratched at level 6 on the Mohs scale, with level 7 showing deeper scratches. But if you're not careful, the flexible screen can still be dented with just your fingernails.

Flip4 is surprisingly resistant to dust, although it does not have dust resistance according to the IP standard. The design of the joint effectively prevents foreign objects and particles from entering the internal mechanism of the joint, however, the joint itself does not seem as strong as last year.

Last came the 'break' test, and even though the new Flip has a redesigned hinge that takes up less internal space and is also thinner, it still seems to be strong enough to prevent the phone from breaking when pushed hard from the other side. Like its predecessor, it flexed a bit under similar circumstances, however, unlike it, the internal component near the joint seems to crack or pop if enough force is applied to it from the rear. However, this does not affect the functionality of the phone.

Overall, both the Flip3 and its successor survived Zack Nelson's "torture" with flying colours, although the Flip4 suffered more internal damage during it. Either way, both are the most durable clamshell "benders" you can buy today, and are even more durable than some standard smartphones from other brands.
