You can already read reviews on the pages of our magazine Galaxy Watch5 i Watch5 For. We also brought you a comparison with the version Watch4 Classic. But if you look at the paper specifications, you won't find much difference. But are these improvements so essential that you should ditch your current smartwatch model and get a new one? We know the answer.

Galaxy Watch5 to Watch5 Pros - the main differences

A watch Galaxy Watch5 to Watch5 Pros that were presented at the conference Galaxy Unpacked 2022 in early August, they improve on their predecessors with the system Wear OS 3 with several key innovations. Both models offer the same features, including an improved BioActive sensor, an Exynos W920 chipset, and share the same 16GB of storage as well as 1,5GB of RAM.

They have a 40mm watch along with it Galaxy Watch5 battery with a capacity of 284 mAh, while the 44 mm variant received 410 mAh. In both cases, this is a significant improvement over last year's models, which will give the user a few extra hours a day. Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, on the other hand, has a battery with a capacity of 590 mAh, which is an absolute gem in terms of battery life. Samsung estimates a battery life of around 80 hours, and we can more or less confirm this value. Three days straight is not too much of a problem.

Aside from the battery, the only other differentiating factor is the physical design. Galaxy WatchThe 5 Pro are slightly thicker and have a titanium case designed to withstand even the hardest impacts. Galaxy Watch5 in size are housed in an "Armor Aluminum" case which will protect them but is not nearly as durable as titanium. Samsung also used sapphire, which is present throughout the range, although it should be set a notch higher on the Pro model. But aside from the battery sizes and to some extent the physical appearance, these watches are essentially the same.

Comparison with Galaxy Watch 4

As for the watch Galaxy Watch4, they are a year old, but by no means outdated. This series was the first for Samsung to have an operating system Wear OS 3, which is the same operating system that is of course also used in the watch Galaxy Watch5. Regarding the hardware Galaxy Watch4, watches actually still have a lot to offer even now. They already had the BioActive sensor, when the new sensor did a good job of collecting important health data. WITH Watch5 to WatchAfter all, the 5 Pro has the same chip and internal and operating memory.

Galaxy Watch4 were equipped with a 40mAh battery in a 247mm case, while the 44mm size had a 361mAh capacity. The same configuration was also in the small and large version Watch4 Classic. Samsung stated that you can last about 40 hours on the battery, although it felt like 24 hours at best.

Is the upgrade worth it?

Since the displays have remained the same, practically the only really major improvement is in the area of endurance, otherwise it can be said that in almost every respect these two generations of wearable devices are almost the same watch - if, of course, you forget that Watch4 Classic had a physical rotating bezel.

Simply put, the switch is worth it if you own the model Watch4 and you will go to Watch5 For. But if any increase in endurance is the most important thing for you, then you will improve with any of this year's models.
