It's like a seesaw, and every now and then someone claims something different. Of course, you can't count on anything until it's official - that is, until February of next year, but historically we know that such leaks have not been very wrong. But this year is different every time. Now, unfortunately, it looks like it's our turn Galaxy The S23 will once again be equipped with Samsung's Exynos.

Samsung usually launches its flagship series Galaxy S in two variants: one with a Snapdragon chip for the US and practically the rest of the world except for Europe and a few Asian markets, where it distributes them with its own Exynos SoC. But the Exynos variant was almost always worse in terms of performance and efficiency than the Snapdragon model, even though they were identical devices. You could tell by the performance, heating and photo quality.

We want Snapdragon!

Following the negative feedback from the public towards the Exynos 2200 present in the Galaxy S22 this year, the Korean giant had to change its strategy and expand the availability of the model Galaxy S22 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 to more markets, theoretically including us. After all, this strategy is not foreign to him, because i Galaxy The S21 FE 5G was originally distributed with Exynos. Rumors suggested that the company could additionally next year with the model Galaxy Abandon the S23 from Exynos completely, but as it seems, neither will happen.

Leaker Ice Universe he claims, that due to the consistently poor results of the semiconductor division, the company's top bosses still want to equip Galaxy S23 with its own Exynos 2300 chip for selected markets. Which, of course, makes sense from their point of view, since a custom chip is cheaper than a purchased one, and if it could be debugged, it would be great advertising for the company. Unfortunately, it is more likely that it will fail again. If this rumor turns out to be true, the Korean smartphone manufacturer will of course re-launch it on our European market Galaxy The S23 with an Exynos 2300 chip, and other and slightly luckier markets would get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 variant of the phone.

Clear numbers?

Samsung already uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip in more than 70% of its models Galaxy S22 shipped worldwide. So the remaining 30% sold in Europe and selected other markets are Exynos 2200 models. For next year, Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon has previously hinted that this number could grow exponentially next year as the two companies extend and expand their partnership until 2030, which also meant that Samsung would leave at least one year away from its efforts to have its own chip in flagship smartphones.

Apparently, Samsung for its phones Galaxy working on its custom SoC, much like it does Apple with A-series chips for its iPhones that are simply unmatched in performance. Reportedly, Samsung could optimize this chip for its future devices to provide higher performance and efficiency. However, the exclusive SoC isn't expected to appear until 2025, so we've got two years of nothing here to hope that at least the manufacturer's flagships will feature Snapdragons worldwide.

While current Exynos chips are mostly found in Samsung phones, they do make their way into phones from Vivo and Motorola from time to time as Samsung is keen to sell them to other brands. If the Exynos 2300 didn't come out, it could lose a lot, even if we would make a profit. But if the situation with Exynos annoys you, there is a solution - buy one Galaxy Z Flip4 or Z Fold4. Although these are very different devices, these are now determining the future direction and are equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen1 in our country as well.
