Samsung has always been first androidby the smartphone manufacturer that brought the latest version of Wi-Fi to the market. A current report suggests that the first phone with Wi-Fi 7 will be launched in the second half of next year, with the models of the series expected to be among the first devices to support the new standard Galaxy S24.

According to website information DigiTimes Wi-Fi 6E will only be a "transactional technology" as Wi-Fi 2024 is due to launch in 7. In terms of features, Wi-Fi 7 will be able to use 300MHz channels with support for 4K Quadrature Amplitude Modulation technology, making it with the same number of antennas up to 2,4x faster than Wi-Fi 6. The Wi-Fi Alliance expects it to offer speeds of at least 30 GB/s and possibly reach the 40 GB/s mark.

This is a significant improvement indeed, as Wi-Fi 6 maxes out at 9,6 GB/s and Wi-Fi 5 at 3,5 GB/s. In addition, Wi-Fi 7 is also supposed to provide a more stable connection. Even before the new standard arrives on smartphones, it will be implemented in routers and laptops. Qualcomm, MediaTek and Intel want to use it in their chips as soon as possible. It is likely to be very expensive to begin with and may not become a common technology until 2025.
