Samsung could be the next smartphone maker to offer satellite connectivity on its devices. This is already offered by Huawei and Apple (the second mentioned specifically on iPhonech 14).

Website Phandroid, who came up with the information, does not specify which device of the Korean giant will get this feature first. However, it is worth noting that Google plans to add support for satellite connectivity to Androidat 14, i.e. next year.

Huawei has Apple added satellite connectivity to their devices through specialized hardware. Whether Samsung will do the same is unclear at this point. It is worth noting that mobile operators such as T-Mobile are working to implement satellite connectivity to existing devices that do not have such hardware through the Starlink network. However, this has more to do with expanding coverage for customers in remote areas than offering an emergency service that is not tied to operator networks. However, these concepts are based on similar technologies and should not be mutually exclusive.

We'll see if Samsung offers satellite connectivity before Google makes the feature available next time Androidu. He might not want to fall too far behind Huawei and Applema can try to come up with his own solution before that, either hardware or software.
