Even though it's only been a few weeks since Google released it Android 13, it can be assumed that there are already plans to release the next one Androidua that its development has already begun. Now that we know what v Androidu 13 will be and what won't be, we can think about what we would like to see in Androidu 14. Here are our four wishes.

Separate switches for Wi-Fi and mobile network

U Androidat 12, Google decided it was time to spring clean the Quick Settings toggles. In the process, it merged Wi-Fi switches and cellular networks into one all-encompassing one called the Internet. Not only is it confusing to use, but it makes simple processes like quickly disconnecting and reconnecting to your unstable Wi-Fi network quite an unpleasant experience. Unfortunately, this is something many of us still have to do on a daily basis, as internet connections can be inherently fickle.

Better integration with third-party launchers

Ever since Google introduced v Androidu 10 gesture navigation, third-party launchers have been sidelined. That's because the preinstalled launcher is more deeply integrated with the system than ever before to provide a smoother transition between the home screen, the recently opened task screen and apps. Third-party launchers simply don't have the same permissions as the pre-installed one, so they don't allow this smooth transition.

Ideally, it should Android 14 to allow third-party launchers to integrate more deeply into the system when set as a default option. On the other hand, this can be prevented by security reasons, but also technical reasons, since the manufacturers androidDifferent smartphones have different animations and methods to achieve them, so it is possible that custom launchers would have to be programmed only for specific phones.

Privacy protection in apps by example iOS

As you probably know Apple introduced into the system iOS 14.5 a new level of privacy protection that forces apps to ask users for permission if they want to track them in other apps to create more accurate advertising models. Of course, most users tend to reject such formulated requests "out of the blue", thus cutting advertising companies off from the data they could previously rely on. While we would very much like such a feature, it is unlikely that Google would do it Androidu 14 (or later versions) he added because it would be against his business interests. After all, he is still primarily a merchant with advertising.

Anyway, the software giant is currently working on a Privacy Sandbox system that promises to offer users and advertisers the best of both worlds. The system is supposed to enable personalized ads that use a new system feature instead of tracking users themselves.

More immersive gesture navigation in applications

iPhones and iPads are great in that gesture navigation feels natural and something that is deeply integrated into the system and apps. For phones with AndroidUnfortunately, that is not the case. Androidbecause apps often don't render content behind the navigation bar, leaving a large block around the actual navigation bar. In a system iOS this isn't a big deal since the vast majority of apps render content in the area behind the navigation bar, making for a much more immersive experience.
