Even before Samsung introduced foldable smartphones Galaxy From Fold4 a From Flip4, reports hit the airwaves that he had set a goal of delivering a total of 15 million to the global market by the end of the year. Now, new estimates have "emerged" that indicate that the Korean technology giant may not be even close to achieving this goal.

Samsung will reportedly be able to ship "only" 8 million of its latest jigsaws by the end of this year. Let us recall that last year Samsung shipped 7,1 million to the market Galaxy Z Foldu3 and Z Flipu3.

The new prediction was made by Noh Geun-chang, a researcher at the Hyundai Motor Securities Research Center. He predicts that Samsung will ship 10 million of all its "benders" to the market this year. The head of Samsung's mobile division, TM Roh, also mentioned the same number earlier.

Samsung may have adjusted its targets based on market reaction and the global economic situation. The weaker customer demand is apparently not related to a lack of interest in Galaxy From Fold4 and Flip4. The new Fold is one of the most expensive smartphones today, with prices starting at 1 dollars (here, Samsung sells it from 799 CZK). In the current economic situation, there probably won't be many people willing to spend that kind of money on a phone.

The situation is expected to improve in 2023. According to conservative estimates, shipments of all Samsung jigsaws could reach 15 million next year.
