Although Google said that the new user interface design of the globally popular navigation application Android The car will be released in the summer, it hasn't happened yet. The new interface should bring a more responsive design of widgets and other elements and a slightly newer design language. Now it has become clear that the redesign will also apply to music players.

Social network user Reddit, who managed to get a new UI design by rooting his phone Android Activate the car, he shared several pictures of his infotainment unit on it. The new interface shows larger tabs/widgets for the music players, something Google didn't show when introducing the redesign. This style is apparently only active for Spotify so far, but could be extended to other music services in the future.

Music playback widget/tab shows larger album art, music playback controls, informace about the song and a second page to show recommended playlists based on your play history. The second page is accessed by swiping left, and even shows the option to shuffle songs in the current playlist.

Currently, the ability to display Google Maps and music players side-by-side is only available in selected cars that have infotainment units with ultra-wide-angle displays. With an upcoming UI redesign Android The car will be able to display multiple applications at the same time, even infotainment units with smaller displays. Hopefully we will see the expected update soon.
