In June, the well-known leaker Digital Chat Station came out with information that the next Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship chipset will have an unusual processor unit configuration, namely 1+2+2+3 (one super-powerful Cortex-X3 core, two powerful Cortex-A720 cores, two "normal" Cortex-A710 cores and three economical Cortex-A510 cores). However, the new leak, which is behind an even more famous leaker, reveals slightly different specifications.

According to the now legendary leaker Ice universe, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will have two Cortex-A720 cores instead of two Cortex-A715 cores, the maximum clock speed of which is said to be 2,8 GHz. Cortex-X3 is supposed to run at up to 3,2 GHz, Cortex-A710 at 2,8 GHz and Cortex-A510 at 2 GHz. The new configuration of the cores should otherwise contribute to greater energy efficiency of the chipset. Although the leaker didn't mention it, according to unofficial reports, graphics operations will be handled by the Adreno 740 GPU.

Let us remind you that she recently appeared on the air informace, that Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will have "high frequency" variant, which could be more powerful than Apple's new A16 Bionic chipset that powers the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is otherwise expected to be introduced in mid-November and will reportedly be the first to be used by the range Xiaomi 13. It is virtually certain that it will also power Samsung's next flagship series Galaxy S23 but probably only in certain markets.
