Google holds its I/O conference in May, then June belongs to Apple and its WWDC. Samsung then holds its developer conference in October. This year it will be on Wednesday, October 12, and of course we will see a lot of news regarding the One UI superstructure and the SmartThings platform.

The keynote is scheduled to begin at 19 p.m. ET, and the event will be broadcast live from the Moscone North Convention Center in San Francisco, California. Nine Samsung engineers and executives will be present live at SDC 2022 to lead dozens of conferences, some of which will also be broadcast online and others will be available only on demand. The hosts will discuss various aspects in addition to SmartThings, including the Tizen system and the One UI 5.0 user interface.

The program for SDC22 includes topics such as "What's new in One UI 5", "SmartThings Find: What's New in Tizen" a "Tizen Everywhere". As for the last two topics, Samsung will talk about the latest features available in Tizen 7.0 and the progress of its licensing program. It states that since September 22, more than 10 brands in Europe, Australia and Turkey have adopted the Tizen operating system for their TVs. Three brands were announced last month.

Samsung is also likely to talk about One UI 12 on October 5.0th, but whether that means the update will be publicly available by then is unclear. However, the company intends to release One UI 5.0 and Android 13 for several devices Galaxy until the end of 2022. Last but not least, the Hacker Playground will also take place at the Samsung developer conference. So, as usual, the company invites hackers and developers to participate in its challenges and play Capture the Flag games for a chance to win numerous prizes as well.
