Samsung introduced a new 200MPx photo sensor. It is called ISOCELL HPX and, among other things, it supports video recording in 8K resolution at 30 frames per second and has Tetra 2 Pixel technology, which allows you to take photos in resolutions of 50 and 12,5 MPx for different lighting conditions.

As you may recall, the next top model in the range Galaxy S23 S23Ultra should have as a first Samsung phone 200MPx camera. However, it probably won't be the ISOCELL HPX, as the Korean giant has announced it in China and it seems to be exclusively for customers there.

ISOCELL HPX has 0,56 micron pixels and one of its advantages is that it can have a reduced area by 20%. The sensor can use 200MPx resolution in well-lit areas, but thanks to pixel binning technology (hardware pixel grouping), it can also take 50MPx images (with a pixel size of 1,12 microns) in less well-lit areas. In addition, it can combine even more pixels into one at 2,24 microns for a 12,5MPx mode in even lower light environments. The sensor also supports 8K video recording at 30 fps, Super QPD autofocus, dual HDR and Smart ISO.

Let us remind you that the ISOCELL HPX is already the third 200MPx sensor from Samsung. He was the first ISOCELL HP1, introduced last September, and the second ISOCELL HP3, released earlier this summer. It is said to be the one that the next Ultra should be equipped with ISOCELL HP2.
