To expand its presence and “materialize” the SmartThings platform experience locally, Samsung opened its first SmartThings Home in Dubai. It is its first multi-device experience space in the Middle East. It occupies an area of 278 m2 and is located on the first floor of the Dubai Butterfly Building, which houses its regional headquarters.

SmartThings Home Dubai is divided into four zones, namely Home Office, Living Room & Kitchen, Gaming and Contents Studio, where visitors can explore 15 SmartThings scenarios. They can also experience the benefits of connecting SmartThings to a variety of devices, from mobiles to home appliances and display devices.

For local customers, there are exclusive Sandstorm Mode and Prayer Mode zones developed by Samsung's Middle East headquarters together with the R&D center in Jordan. In the former mode, customers can quickly tap a single button in the SmartThings app to turn on the smart shutters that prevent dust from entering from the outside. At the same time, the internal air cleaner and robotic vacuum cleaner will start. In the latter mode, users will receive notifications on their smartwatches when it is time to pray. You only need to turn on this mode in the SmartThings application, after which the smart blinds will be activated, the lighting of the room will be adjusted, the TV will be turned off, and thus a suitable environment for prayer will be created.

The opening of SmartThings Home Dubai on 6 October was attended by over 100 visitors, including local media, partner companies, government officials and influencers.
