As you probably know, Samsung does not support the Dolby format on its televisions Vision pro HDR videos. Instead, the company uses the HDR10+ format, which it developed together with Amazon and several other brands. He released last month Apple for your smart boxes Apple TV update tvOS 16 just with support for videos in HDR10+ format. Now the company is adding support for HDR10+ video streaming to its app as well Apple TV you can run on Samsung TVs.

Application Apple TV on Samsung smart TVs can now stream videos in HDR10+ after the latest update, and that's for content from Apple TV and iTunes, which now displays in HDR10+ in addition to HDR. However, only those videos whose main HDR10+ file is provided by their production studio will be displayed in this format.

HDR10+ is very similar to Dolby Vision technology. Both formats offer dynamic metadata (frame-by-frame or scene-by-scene) for high dynamic range videos. However, HDR10+ is an open source format, while Dolby Vision is a proprietary format. Recently, however, Dolby Vision has received more support from manufacturers, and in fact only Samsung TVs exclusively use the HDR10+ format.

But Google is said to be developing its own mix of high-end audio and video formats to compete with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. It also wants to unite them under one umbrella brand and will reportedly use HDR10+ as the HDR video format. It also cooperates with many important brands. After all, even Google is involved in the TV area to some extent with its Chromecast.
