Huawei has launched its new flexible clamshell Pocket S (previous leaks referred to it as the P50 Pocket New). It is a cheaper (and weaker hardware) successor to last year's "bender" P50 pocket. Judging by the specifications, it will not be for Galaxy Neither the Flip4 nor the Flip3 are big competitors (it wasn't even the P50 Pocket, after all).
The Huawei Pocket S has a 6,9-inch flexible OLED display with a resolution of 1188 x 2790 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate, and an external display with a size of 1,04 inches and a resolution of 340 x 340 pixels. The design is no different from the P50 Pocket. It is powered by a Snapdragon 778G chipset, supported by 8 GB of RAM and 128-512 GB of internal memory.

The rear camera is dual with a resolution of 40 and 13 MPx (the second serves as a "wide-angle lens"), the front camera has a resolution of 10,7 MPx and boasts an ultra-wide-angle lens. The equipment includes a side-mounted fingerprint reader and NFC. The battery has a capacity of 4000 mAh and supports fast charging with a power of 40 W (according to the manufacturer, it can be charged from zero to half in 20 minutes) and 5 W reverse charging. Software-wise, the phone is powered by Harmony OS 3.0. From the above, it follows that the phone differs from its predecessor in three respects – it has a slower chip (the P50 Pocket uses the Snapdragon 888 4G), it lacks a 32 MPx rear camera and has a lower RAM capacity (in addition to the 50 GB version, the P8 Pocket is also offered with 12 GB).

The novelty will be offered in a total of six colors, namely black, silver, golden yellow, blue, pink and mint green. The price of the variant with 128GB storage is 5 yuan (roughly 988 CZK), the variant with 20GB storage costs 400 yuan (about 256 CZK). These versions will go on sale on November 6, while the one with 488GB of storage will arrive a month later and will cost 22 yuan (approximately 100 CZK). It is not known at the moment whether Huawei plans to launch the phone on international markets (it did so with its predecessor anyway, it is also available here).
