As you may have noticed, Qualcomm unveiled its new flagship chip last week Snapdragon 8 Gen2. Now, the first phone to use it has been launched, the Vivo X90 Pro+. And judging by its specifications, it could be a more than worthy rival Samsung Galaxy S22Ultra.

The Vivo X90 Pro+ features Samsung's 4-inch curved LTPO6,78 AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, and a peak brightness of 1800 nits. Inside, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset beats, which is followed by 12 GB of operating system and 256 or 512 GB of internal memory.

The camera is quadruple with a resolution of 50,3, 64, 50 and 48 MPx, while the primary (built on the Sony IMX758 sensor) has an aperture of f/1.8, laser focus and optical image stabilization (OIS), the second is a telephoto lens with 3,5x optical zoom and OIS, the third a telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and OIS, and the fourth fulfills the role of "wide-angle" (with an angle of view of 114 °). Otherwise, the camera can record videos in up to 8K resolution at 30 fps and also supports raw video recording. Its colors were helped to be optimized by the renowned photography company Zeiss (which also supplied the optics for the cameras). The front camera has a resolution of 32 MPx and can record videos in a resolution of up to 4K at 30 fps.

The equipment includes an under-display fingerprint reader, NFC, an infrared port and stereo speakers. The battery has a capacity of 4700 mAh and supports 80W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and wireless reverse charging. The operating system is Android 13 with the OriginOS 3 superstructure. For the sake of completeness, let's add that in addition to this, Vivo also introduced the X90 and X90 Pro models, which are powered by the chipset Dimensity 9200 and they have slightly worse rear camera specs.

The phone, along with its siblings, will go on sale on December 6 and will start at 6 yuan. Whether Vivo plans to bring the series to international markets is unknown at this point, but given its past flagship X500 series, it is likely.
