Manufacturing the iPhone requires a combination of multiple suppliers who supply Apple with various parts. When it comes to displays, Samsung Display is the main supplier of OLED displays for iPhone since the Cupertino smartphone giant switched to OLED panels. And now, as the website writes The Elec, Samsung's display division is expected to deliver for the range iPhone 14 more than 70% of OLED panels.

According to the website The Elec si Apple this year for the series iPhone 14 reportedly ordered over 120 million OLED panels. Of these, around 80 million panels are to be supplied by Samsung Display. Other Apple suppliers, such as LG Display and BOE, are said to supply 20, respectively 6 million panels.

Samsung has an advantage over other display suppliers because LG Display supplies an LTPS display only for the base model iPhone 14 and LTPO display for the model iPhone 14 For Max. BOE then supplies screens only for the base model iPhone 14. The Samsung division, on the other hand, supplies panels for all models (i.e., apart from the ones mentioned, also for iPhone 14 Plus a iPhone 14 Pro). So it's its versatility that allows it to beat Apple's other suppliers.

The site notes that roughly 60 of the 80 million panels ordered from Samsung will be used for high-end models iPhone 14 For a iPhone 14 For Max. Another reason why Samsung has become the main supplier of OLED displays for Apple, is that LG's display division is currently facing production issues.
