In recent months, Google released an update with the Material You design language for the Google Maps and Keep apps on watches with the system Wear OS 3. Now it seems that along with that, the software giant has ended their support on the watch with Wear OS 2.

As stated by the website 9to5Google, when searching for Google Maps and Keep apps in the Google Play Store using a watch running on Wear OS 2 applications are not displayed. When you visit the app pages from the web or phone and look at the "Compatibility for your active device" section, it says that the apps "don't work on your device". On the watch pixel Watch is the latest version of Keep version 5.22.452.00.97 and is listed as a requirement Android 11 and higher.

It is unclear when these apps were supported for the s watch Wear OS 2 discontinued, but could coincide with the Material You redesign, which significantly modernized everything. The yellow accent color has been removed and all items use a pill-shaped background.

Existing watch users with Wear OS 2 users who already have these apps installed should not be affected by the end of support, however their support/availability should be considered for future watch resets. The following Google applications are currently available on watches with this system: Google, Gboard, Fit, Wallet, Messages, Camera, Clock, Wear OS by Google Smartwatch and YouTube Music.
