Samsung's flexible phones are gaining popularity every year. In the first three quarters of this year, the Korean giant delivered 16 million jigsaws to the global market, which represents a year-on-year increase of 73%. Consumers and businesses are buying them more than ever. And while it seems that Galaxy ZFold4 is popular mainly among business users, its sibling Galaxy Z-Flip4 has now been named product of the year in Belgium.

The Belgian Product of the Year award is a major milestone for Samsung, as it made it the first electronics manufacturer ever to win it. In the past, it was mainly given to products with a short shelf life and quick turnover, such as soft drinks or cosmetic products. For Samsung, this win is doubly valuable, as the badge has been helping customers since 1987, and according to surveys cited by the Korean giant, almost half of consumers believe that its logo helps them make the right product choice.

The award works based on contributions from brands and distributors. Posts are judged by consumers who test the products first hand. In doing so, they take into account various criteria, including innovation, attractiveness and ease of use. And the new Flip meets these criteria to the letter. The phone is sold in Belgium (in the version with 128GB storage) for 1 euros (roughly CZK 099). It is available in four color variants, but customers can pay extra to "mix" and match a wider range of colors through the Flip26 Bespoke Edition (unfortunately not available here).
