I had both of this year's Samsung foldable devices at my disposal, that is Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4. However, it is clear that both of them are behind the times in terms of photography skills Galaxy S, and that has to change. For the Fold, so that it can be the rightful flagship, for the Flip, to be more competitive.

Galaxy From Fold4 to the top line Galaxy Although the S22 came close, it still does not reach their quality. In the case of the Ultra model, this comparison is of course pointless. But the Fold is priced even higher than the S22 Ultra, so it should also offer an unrivaled set of cameras, perhaps with the only acceptable exception of the periscopic telephoto lens (due to space requirements).

The Flip, on the other hand, is dealing with a bigger and bigger external display. Personally, it doesn't make much sense to me, because what it can do already, it can do well, and what it's supposed to do, it serves perfectly. Its goal is primarily to inform, not to represent the functions and options you get when you open the phone on its full-size 6,7" display. Magnification is a problem here, however, as a larger external display naturally takes up the space intended for cameras.

It needs a telephoto lens

It is rumored that at the model Galaxy The Flip5 could see the biggest enlargement of the external display so far, when it should reportedly be a 60% increase compared to the size in the current Flip4. Well, given the compact size of the device, I'm quite worried that 2023 could be another year that will bring an improved Flip that will have improved cameras, but not in the way we'd like. Minor performance upgrades are always a given, but here it really wants to take off. We are talking about adding a telephoto lens.

Considering the enlarged external display, that means it would Galaxy The Flip5 could have only two rear cameras like its previous models. Even if Samsung managed to "save" some of that space, it would probably still implement some outdated lens with only 2x zoom instead of something that would make sense for a smartphone for 27 CZK these days. And we don't really want that, so it makes me think: “Samsung should start working on the model Galaxy From Flip Ultra (or Plus or Pro or whatever moniker)?”

We all know that the cover display, no matter how big it will be, will more or less only be used for quickly checking notifications, reading SMS and chats, receiving calls, etc., i.e. for activities that you can easily do even on a display the size of your watch. However, it will not replace a good set of cameras. And that's also considering the fact that the current one is also not equal to the qualities of Samsung's flagship series, which you can already buy for around 20 CZK.

In my opinion, Samsung should not waste resources on changing the external display. It should solve the bending of the main one, as well as the need to cover it with foil. Then the cameras should come next, followed by anything else, such as further reduction of the joint. However, it is true that Galaxy z Flip4 is not a bad phone. It's actually a great phone, but it has a few compromises. If you can pass them by, you now have a unique opportunity to buy it.

You can buy Flip4 directly from Samsung for CZK 27, however, there is a redemption bonus with which you can save CZK 3 plus, of course, you'll also save on the price of your existing device, which Samsung will buy back from you. If you buy before the end of the year, you will also receive a Samsung Care+ for 1 year free, 15% of the value on your next purchase a Galaxy Watch5 a housing for a single crown.
