One UI is one of the most popular globally androidof add-ons, which is also the most widespread in terms of sales of Samsung phones. Its latest version 5.0 then reminded us again why we prefer the proprietary look Androidu from Samsung before any other, including the almost clean OS used by the Pixel phones, for example.

One UI often improves the features available in Androidu whether it adds new tools. But sometimes also some androidremoves these functions. And one such thing happened in One UI 5.0. Samsung has specifically "hacked" Focus Mode in it, and it seems to have done so for good reasons, as very few users seem to use this feature. If you don't know what that is, Focus Mode is a feature Androidu (still available in standard Androidu 13), which may prevent you from using selected applications.

More specifically, Focus Mode allows users to Androidu create a "work mode" that disables distracting apps during work hours. Other "modes" can be created around different activities, but the basic principle remains the same: you block the use of apps according to a predetermined schedule. Samsung removed this feature in One UI 5.0 to replace it with a more robust solution. If the description of Focus Mode sounds familiar, it's probably because Samsung added a "Modes" feature to its existing Bixby Routine feature in One UI 5.0 and changed its name to Modes and routines.

In other words, the One UI 5.0 extension did what One UI often does best. She removed the feature Androidu, only to replace it with something (probably) better. Samsung's modes offer a wider range of parameters than Google's Focus Mode, including the ability to activate based on location rather than time of day. One UI 5.0 users can also change the behavior of incoming calls, notifications, and a few other basic features when Modes and routines are active. However, it remains to be seen whether the addition of Modes to Bixby Routines will really benefit One UI 5.0 users.
