Google Search is a powerful tool that can search the web as well as dig deep into yours androidphone. While Google routinely changes its algorithms running in the background to provide users with relevant results, the Search user interface on Androidu has not changed fundamentally for a long time. However, that is likely to change soon as the software giant is testing a new design for its search engine with some useful additions.

During this year's Search On event, which took place in late September, Google made a number of announcements about its search engine, including a new search bar for the Google app. While the company didn't say at the time when the news (including the ability to see search results before you've even finished typing) would roll out, Google's dedicated Telegram channel has now brought example of how the new design will Search on androidthese phones look like.

The search bar is now much thicker, while voice and Google Lens search options remain unchanged. Just below the bar, you'll notice a new carousel menu of search suggestions. The former provides contextual options, such as the ability to search from a recently taken screenshot, and also appears when you're about to enter a search query. If you scroll right in the carousel, you'll find even more suggestions for things like doing homework with Google Lens, identifying songs, and more.

It should be noted that Search can already do all of these things, but these handy shortcuts make features easier to access or help users discover. The real new thing is the bell icon - it's right next to your profile picture and shows notifications for topics you've subscribed to.

It is not clear at this time if this is a limited test or if Google is rolling out these new design changes to everyone. At our editorial offices androidThese changes haven't been rolled out on our phones yet, so it may take some time for Google to roll them out more widely.
