Press Release: Exactly fifty years after the famous band Queen released their debut album, their hits will resound at Prague's O2 arena. In May next year, the band Queenie will appear on the stage here, paying tribute to British legends with their music. The concert will follow the exceptional performances of this line-up in 2021, when they were able to fill the O2 arena three nights in a row.

The performance, called Queen Relived, will present the greatest hits and lesser-known songs accompanied by an impressive light and multimedia show on May 18. "Queen concerts weren't just about great music, they were also about spectacular spectacle," says frontman Michael Kluch. "We try to approach them in the same spirit, we call it concert theater."

The O2 arena will once again see the largest LCD screen ever used in this hall, a piano flying above the heads of the spectators and, of course, dazzling light and pyrotechnic effects.

Although Queenie's performance is based on the perfect interplay of all five band members, the main star is the singer, just like their British counterpart. Michael Kluch manages even the most difficult positions of Mercury's vocal acrobatics, and his appearance and movement remind us of the Queen frontman in his prime. His qualities are appreciated by audiences and professionals alike, as evidenced by his nomination for the Thalia Theater Award for his performance in the musical Freddie.

Kluch is joined on stage by drummer Petr Baláš, bassist Martin Binhack, keyboardist Michal David (the coincidence of the names with the disco star is purely coincidental) and guitarist Rudy Neumann. The line-up refers to the classic Queen concert line-up, when the quartet of Freddie Mercury, John Deacon, Brian May and Roger Taylor was supplemented by Spike Edney on keyboards.

Queenie believes that the upcoming concert will be even more spectacular than last year's trio of performances. "We're not comparing ourselves to Queen, of course there's only one original," explains Kluch. "But like them, we're perfectionists and we make sure to give people an experience they'll never forget."

The concert takes place on Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 20:00 in Prague's O2 arena (Českomoravská 2345/17a, Prague 9).
