How to properly charge your phone. Whether we admit it or not, the battery is what's more important on a phone than most other specs. It doesn't matter how good the display and cameras are, if you simply run out of juice. Not performance but baterie is the drive for our smart devices, whether it is a smartphone, tablet or smart watch. In order not to leave you in the lurch throughout the new year, here you will find all the necessary tips on how to properly charge Samsung devices and, in many cases, phones in general.

Optimal environment

Phone Galaxy it is designed to work optimally at temperatures between 0 and 35 °C. If you use and charge your phone beyond this range, you can be sure that it will affect the battery, and of course in a negative way. Such behavior will accelerate the aging of the battery. Temporarily exposing the device to extreme temperatures even activates the protective elements present in the device to prevent battery damage. Using and charging the device outside of this range may cause the device to shut down unexpectedly. Do not use the device for a long time in a hot environment or place it in hot places, such as a hot car in summer. On the other hand, do not use or store the device for a long time in a cold environment, which can, for example, be characterized by temperatures below freezing in the winter.

Minimizing battery aging

If you bought a phone Galaxy without a charger in the package, which is common now, the best thing to do is to get an original one. Do not use cheap Chinese adapters or cables that can damage the USB-C port.  After reaching the desired charge value, disconnect the charger to avoid overcharging the battery (especially when charged to 100%). If you charge overnight, set the Protect battery function (Settings -> Battery and device care -> Battery -> Additional battery settings -> Protect the battery).  Also, for longer battery life, avoid 0% battery level, i.e. completely empty. You can charge the battery at any time and keep it in the optimal range, which is from 20 to 80%.

Fast charging

Modern smartphones allow various forms of fast charging. By default, these options are turned on, but it may happen that they have been turned off. If you want to make sure you charge your device at the maximum speed possible (regardless of the adapter used), go to Settings -> Battery and device care -> Battery -> Additional battery settings and check here if you have it turned on Fast charging a Fast wireless charging. However, to save battery power, the fast charging function is not available when the screen is on. Leave the screen off for charging. At the same time, keep in mind that fast charging also wears down the battery faster. If you want to keep it in good condition for as long as possible, turn off fast charging.

Fast charging tips

  • To increase the charging speed even more, charge the device in Airplane mode.
  • You can check the remaining charging time on the screen, and if fast charging is available, you will also receive a text notification here. Of course, the actual remaining time may vary depending on the charging conditions.
  • You cannot use the built-in quick charge function when charging the battery with a standard battery charger. Find out how fast you can charge your device and get the optimally powerful adapter for it.
  • If the device heats up or the ambient air temperature increases, the charging speed may decrease automatically. This is done to avoid damage to the device.

How to charge a mobile phone with wireless chargers

If your model already has wireless charging, pconnect the charging cable to the charging pad, and on the other hand, of course, also connect it to the appropriate adapter and plug it into a power outlet. When charging on wireless chargers, all you have to do is place your phone on them. However, place the device centrally on the charging pad, otherwise charging may not be as efficient (even so, expect losses). Many charging pads also indicate charging status.

Tips for wireless charging Samsung

  • The smartphone must be centered on the charging pad.
  • There should be no foreign objects such as metal objects, magnets or cards with magnetic strips between the smartphone and the charging pad.
  • The back of the mobile device and the charger should be clean and free of dust.
  • Only use charging pads and charging cables with the appropriate rated input voltage.
  • The protective cover may interfere with the charging process. In this case, remove the protective cover from the smartphone.
  • If you connect a cable charger to your smartphone during wireless charging, the wireless charging function will no longer be available.
  • If you use the charging pad in places with poor signal reception, it may fail completely during charging.
  • The charging station does not have a switch. When not in use, unplug the charging station from the power outlet to avoid power consumption.

Tips for ideal Samsung charging

  • Take a break – Any work you do with the device while charging slows down the charging process to protect against overheating. It is ideal to leave the phone or tablet alone while charging.
  • Room temperature – If the ambient temperature is too high or too low, the protection elements of the device may slow down its charging. In order to ensure stable and fast charging, it is recommended to charge at normal room temperature.
  • Foreign objects – If any foreign object enters the port, the device's safety mechanism may interrupt charging to protect it. Use a soft brush to remove the foreign object and try charging again.
  • Humidity – If moisture is detected inside the port or plug of the USB cable, the device's safety mechanism will notify you of the detected moisture and interrupt charging. All that remains here is to wait for the moisture to evaporate.
