Samsung is busy preparing for the launch of the series Galaxy S23, when the official announcement could happen as early as February 1. The company also seems to be already testing a newer version of One UI for its high-end smartphones. Although the new system will debut on this year's new model, it will also be available for last year's model.

Samsung is internally testing the One UI 5.1 update for models Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra with firmware version S90xEXXU2CVL7. This test firmware has already been spotted on Samsung servers and for the series Galaxy The S22 could be released just days after the launch of the series Galaxy S23, i.e. probably only after it enters the market. According to Samsung's usual strategy, we expect One UI 5.1 to be the first to appear first in the series Galaxy S23.

One UI 5.1 will bring improvements to lock screen customization

It is not yet clear what all the features One UI 5.1 could bring. However, the company indicated a few months ago that for One UI 5.1, which will logically also be based on the Android 13, reserved some lock screen customization options. That is, those who did not make it to One UI 5.0. We would love to see a new design for the media player widget in the notification area Androidu 13, predictive back gesture, partial screen mirroring and taskbar improvements.

Installing the update Androidon 13 and the One UI 5.0 user interface was incredibly fast for Samsung, and we expect the same when One UI 5.1 is released for the company's existing smartphones. Considering the label, it is already clear that there will not be a large number of new products, but since One UI 5.0 is relatively stable and has minimal errors, it will to some extent only be an update to the number", which is supposed to increase the attractiveness of the upcoming smartphones.
