CES 2023 is in full swing and of course Samsung is also participating. Now he has announced another innovation on it, which is a central unit for a smart home called SmartThings Station, which offers quick access to routines and also works as a wireless charging pad.

The SmartThings Station has a physical button that users will be able to use to easily launch routines. Best of all, the center unit is easy to set up using a pop-up message that appears on a compatible smartphone when it's first turned on Galaxy. Users will even have the option to set up the device by scanning QR codes. Since it does not have a display, the primary tool for setting it up will be a smartphone or tablet.

SmartThings Station will enable easy integration of all supported Samsung smart home devices, including other third-party devices that support the standard Matter. By pressing the mentioned button, it will be possible to set routines that can turn the device on or off or set it to predetermined states. One example the Korean giant cites is pressing a button before bed to turn off the lights, close the blinds, and lower the temperature in your home.

The unit is not limited to just one routine; it will be possible to save up to three and activate them with a short, long and double press. If the user is out and about, they will be able to open the SmartThings app from their phone or tablet at any time and control their routines from a remote location.

In addition, the unit has a SmartThings Find function that allows the user to easily find their device Galaxy all over the house. Finally, it also works as a wireless charging pad for compatible devices Galaxy charges at a speed of up to 15 W.

The device will be offered in black and white colors and will be available in the US and South Korea starting next month. It is not known at the moment if it will be released in other markets later, but it is not very likely.
