Although it is Android by all accounts a mature operating system, there is one thing in it that Google still hasn't managed to "pick up" 100%. This is a sharing menu. While its basic features are good for seamlessly transferring content or files from one app to another, its smart features and rigid structure often contribute to an unintuitive user experience.

The software giant has been trying to improve the sharing menu for a long time, but given that it can only be updated with a new version Androidu, the process of improving it is quite slow. Now it looks like Google is considering separating the menu from system updates, a change that could appear as early as Androidin 14

A well-known specialist in Android You are Mishaal Rahman noticed, that Google has developed an experimental hidden copy of the sharing menu found in the Androidu 13. The copy is visually and functionally identical to the existing sharing offer, but unlike it, it is the main module. That is, it is separate from itself Androidua can be updated via Google Play Services. This would mean that the menu could be updated and improved much faster than before.

As Google retains more control over the system components that can be updated through Google Play Services, this new approach would also mean a more consistent experience across smartphones from different manufacturers. Although offer to share on all androiddevices approved by Google must meet certain standards, its functions and design vary greatly. If Google does turn the menu into a main module, it would likely mean less control over this aspect of the system for manufacturers. However, on the other hand, it could make it easier for users to switch between phones.

A likely candidate for this position is Android 14. Since there is no beta or developer preview yet, we'll see if Google makes it into the next version Androidu actually installs.
