Although Samsung only confirmed yesterday when it will hold the Unpacked event for the series Galaxy S23, but rumors are already actively focusing on models that we will not see until next year. The latest of these suggests that Samsung intends to reduce the number of phones in its top line to two.

You may have noticed this on foreign websites as well, so it would like to set the record straight. The rumor claims that Samsung won't be offering a Plus model in the 2024 lineup. The company is said to offer only the base model Galaxy S24 and top model Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, according to the information provided by the magazine SamMobile, that's not accurate.

Samsung is not reducing the number of models in the series Galaxy S24

According to this rumor from South Korea, Samsung is about to drop the model Galaxy S24+ and release models only Galaxy S24 to Galaxy S24 Ultra. The claim is substantiated by the fact that Samsung only has DM1 and DM3 projects in the pipeline, which refer to the model Galaxy S24, respectively Galaxy S24 Ultra. DM2 it should be Galaxy S24+, but not included in the menu. This informace however, it is inaccurate. We understand that DM stands for Diamond, which is the internal codename of the series Galaxy S23, no Galaxy S24. In addition, the upcoming series has three models – Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra and are internally referred to as DM1, DM2 and DM3.

These reports also supported the alleged poor sales of the model Galaxy S22+. This model is said to have accounted for only 17% of all series deliveries last year Galaxy S22. Basic models accounted for 38% and Ultra models for 45%, according to Gfk estimates. However, it is logical. The basic model is the cheapest of the series, which is why it is the most affordable. Ultra is uncompromising. Customers prefer to save on size, but still have the top model, or, on the contrary, pay extra to have the very best. Galaxy The S22+ then has the difficult role of a model crossing the two mentioned.

It's been a few years since Samsung with each series Galaxy S offers three models. Each included a Basic, Plus and Ultra variant. It will be no different in the case of the series Galaxy S23, which will be presented already on February 1.
