This could mean that it won't be buying as many OLED panels from Samsung as it currently is. The Korean giant's display division reportedly formed a new team late last year to work on the project. It is said that its goal is to achieve the commercialization of this technology this year. If it can do that, it will be well-positioned to meet demand for premium smartwatches from both Samsung and Apple.
