Samsung has finally introduced a new one Galaxy S23 Ultra camera. This is the 200MPx ISOCELL HP2 photo sensor that has been speculated for so long. It is already the fourth 200MPx sensor of the Korean giant and, according to him, it offers significantly better image and video quality.

The ISOCELL HP2 is a 1/1.3-inch sensor with a pixel size of 0,6 microns. It is thus smaller than the sensor ISOCELL HP1 (1/1.22-inch size with 0,64-micron pixels), which was introduced the year before. Samsung however he claims, that the ISOCELL HP2 is its most advanced sensor to date, as it features D-VTG (Dual Vertical Transfer Gate) technology that increases the full capacity of each pixel by more than 33%, resulting in better color reproduction and reduced overexposure.

The new sensor also features Tetra2Pixel binning technology, which, depending on the ambient light, can take 50MPx images with 1,2 micron pixel size (4in1 binning) or 12,5MPx photos with 2,4 micron pixels (16in1 binning). It also supports up to 8K video recording at 30 fps with a wider field of view in 50MPx mode, which means it uses larger pixels at this resolution than previous generations of models in the range Galaxy S.

Galaxy The S23 Ultra camera will be Samsung's flagship

According to Samsung, the ISOCELL HP2 offers faster and more reliable autofocus in low-light conditions thanks to Super QPD (Quad Phase Detection) technology. It can also take 200 photos in one second at full 15 MPx resolution, making it the Korean giant's fastest 200 MPx sensor to date.

For improved HDR, the new sensor in 50MPx mode uses DSG (Dual Signal Gain) technology, which captures short and long exposures simultaneously, meaning it can capture pixel-level HDR images and videos. The sensor also features Smart ISO Pro, which allows the phone to simultaneously capture 12,5MP photos and 4K HDR video at 60 fps.

The ISOCELL HP2 has already gone into mass production, which almost certainly means it will be fitted to Samsung's next top-of-the-line flagship Galaxy S23 Ultra. Advice Galaxy S23 will be presented in about two weeks.
